Soon after, Stephen Allen is diagnosed as “made insane by the preaching of Elder Knapp on January 17, 1842, and a Mrs. Tewksbury as being “made frantic by religious terrors” on January 28, 1842. Mayor Chapman calls out the National Lancers to disperse a meeting on January 20, 1842.
